“God Save the Queen”

We sang the words;  we heard our Prime Minister end his Canada Day speech with them – “God Save the Queen”.  It truly was a remarkable day on Parliament Hill yesterday as the Queen and Prince Phillip presided over the 143rd birthday of our confederation.

For our CampFire kids it was memorable in so many ways.  They had never seen so many people in one place.  Police estimated over a 100,000 on The Hill at noon hour, and many more in the streets and other venues.  But it was Queen Elizabeth II who stole the show.  What a blessing to have a monarch who has modeled selfless service to so many millions over 54 years.  God has saved her life and preserved her.  May she continue to reign over us and provide a gold standard of what wise and gracious rulership looks like in the 21st century.
