Ok, a few years ago there was a competition in the UK to see who could shorten The Lord’s Prayer into phone text language.
The winner was Matthew Campbell from York. Here’s his translation …
dad@hvn,ur spshl.we want wot u want&urth2b like hvn.giv us food&4giv r sins lyk we 4giv uvaz.don’t test us!save us!bcos we kno ur boss,ur tuf&ur cool 4 eva!ok?
Now, granted this may not be your preferred approach to saying the prayer that Jesus taught us to pray, but it does have some punch. I really like “we want wot u want”. That’s a really good starting point for all our prayers. It’s not about what we want. We need to figure out what God wants and then start praying for that aspect of heaven to come to urth.
