by Richard Long,
Our hearts and our prayers go out to the people of Haiti today. Like most of you, I have been following this story all day on various news sources.
I was impressed with Franklin Graham’s (Samaritan’s Purse) appeal on CNN earlier this evening. He started by asking people to pray for Haiti and then went on to many other very practical steps anyone could take. You can see a report from Samaritan’s Purse on their website.
I have also been impressed with the many other quick and helpful ways that the internet is coming into play; from websites listing family members who are missing, to Facebook communications relaying the news about uncles or aunts being located. If you are on Twitter then if you check “#Haiti” you will see that there are hundreds of entries per minute as people offer help and suggestions about how to get involved.
Most major news outlets here in Canada have a webpage now devoted to a list of agencies you can donate to. Here’s the one at CTV News.
