Lest We Forget

by Jeremiah Smith,

I’ve often wondered about the mystery known as communion (or the Eucharist).  Sitting in a cafe a few days ago I was reminded of the passage where it says, “remember the LORD your God…” (Deut. 8:2).  In thinking about communion I realized that perhaps it is less a mystery and more a reminder.  Just as the passover celebration was to be a reminder of Gods faithfulness, so to is communion to be a reminder of Christs saving grace.  It is that place where we are consistently reminded of our past while being constantly reminded of a future made possible only through Christ.

Lest We Forget

The Blood Spilled

The Body Broken

Lest We Forget

The Great Cost

Freedom Bought

Lest We Forget

His Name

Jesus Christ

Amen.
