Gatineau Park

by Richard Long,

This is the time of year that this region really comes into its own.  The fall colours in Gatineau Park are especially rich.  We have a very full week ahead of us, so with the morning chores done, Rob Parker organized a hike from Pink Lake to the Mackenzie King estate.  The round trip distance was a little over 6 kms.  It was a cool afternoon, but the sun was shining, so with a brisk pace we kept warm and basked in the beauty of the Canadian shield we were hiking through.

I find that anytime I can spend in the creation around me somehow does a wonderful job of re-calibrating my spirit and infusing a rest into my soul.  I noticed that our Nazarites were a little more subdued, or should I say tired, at supper tonight.  Guess that fresh air had an effect on their younger bodies too.
