Global Day of Prayer

by Richard Long

Like many cities across Canada, Ottawa is joining with millions of Christians on every continent to pray in a special city-wide gathering today.  Our special guests at NHOP this weekend are a couple of Fijiians who have come as missionaries to the Arctic.  Yes, you heard that right.  From one of the hottest places on earth to one of the coldest.  Anyway, they along with their host, Roger Armbruster (Canada Awakening Ministries) are going to give the global greeting to our Global Day of Prayer event.

Hopefully there is an expression of this worldwide prayer phenomena somewhere near you today.  It is Pentecost Sunday, and we remember that the church was birthed out of a prayer meeting in an upper room in Jerusalem almost 2000 years ago.  May the same kind of power attend the church today.
