Mother Teresa’s secret to prayer

by Richard Long

I’m reading Philip Yancey’s book Prayer:Does it make any difference?  Like all his books, he is a master at researching and quoting all kinds of sources on the topic.

Here’s his quote from Mother Teresa of Calcutta…

“My secret is a very simple one: I pray.”

Wow!  How do you get better at praying?  By praying.

He goes on to quote her little rhyme.

“Prayer is simply talking to God.  He speaks to us: we listen.  We speak to him: He listens. A two-way process: speaking and listening.”
