The Standing Committee of Foreign Affairs’  Subcommittee on International Human Rights is currently doing a study of the treatment of religious minorities in Pakistan and elsewhere.  I was at the committee meeting today, along with a few others from the National House of Prayer and 4 My Canada, to observe as Rev. Majed El Shafie of One Free World Ministries gave evidence on the persecution of Christians and other minority groups in Pakistan, Iraq and Egypt.  Also in attendance was an Iraqi Christian giving personal testimony as to the injustice he and his family have borne through the bombing of their church  in Iraq where many people died and through the kidnapping of their son who suffered great physical harm, as a result.  There will be more evidence given tomorrow along with recommendations for changes in how our government deals with matters such as these.  This, I feel, is a matter for prayer and would ask your support.
